Early History

The Hotel and casinos inauguration was held on the 5th August 1966, and the owners’ Jay Sarno and Stanley Mallin spent over $1 million on the event. Among the opening performers was Andy Williams and Phil Richards and it was said that from the day this Casino opened its doors, it was a mob-controlled casino.

Frank Sinatra started performing at the Casino in 1967 after a fall out with The Sands owners; however, during a high stakes game of Baccarat, he had a run-in with the hotel executive Waterman and swore to never return or perform at Caesars again.
